JAKARTA— “In international politics, we support each other; our stance is the same. On the issue of Palestine, and on the issue of Ukraine, we want a swift ceasefire," President Prabowo said on Thursday (23/10/2025).

Prabowo said both nations agreed on the importance of genuine peace and a just political solution, particularly through a two-state solution to resolve the conflict in the Middle East.

“We want genuine peace, moving towards a political solution, namely the two-state solution,” he added.

Meanwhile, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva emphasised that Indonesia and Brazil are equally committed to peace, sustainable development, and a more just world order.

He stated that both countries reject the genocide in Gaza and support the two-state solution as the only path to peace in the region.

President Lula also highlighted the need for a comprehensive reform of the UN security council to address its lack of representation and the current decision-making deadlock at a global level.

“Only a comprehensive reform of the UN security council can resolve the current lack of representation and deadlock,” President Lula said.
